Huseman and Bass Earn CL Player-of-the-Week Honors

AVON, Ohio – Sophomore Noah Huseman was selected as the Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week and freshman TJ Bass picked up the Crossroads League Player of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Monday.
Huseman completed seven scoreless innings on the week, grabbing a win in his two outings. The sophomore righty posted three strikeouts, while allowing four base runners for a 0.57 WHIP.
The Fort Mitchell, Kentucky native has started the season on fire from the mound, going 11.2 innings without giving up a run, while holding opponents to a .057 batting average.
Bass brought solid power to the TU lineup, tallying a double and home run. The freshman slugger boasted a .364 batting average, four walks, five RBI and a .727 slugging percentage on the week.
Splitting time as a catcher and designated hitter, Bass played a key role in Taylor's series win over No. 22 Indiana Tech. In the two victories, the Greenwood, Indiana native logged three hits, three runs and a three-run homer.
Lauren Kanai (softball), Jessica Doctor (softball), Kendall Bradbury (women's basketball), Huseman and Bass were all honored this week by the Crossroads League. Taylor leads the Crossroads League with 33 total player-of-the-week selections this year.
Taylor will return to Winterholter Field for its next contest, taking on Huntington (4-5) on Friday at 1:00 pm.
