Taylor Football Collects 18 NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards
KANSAS CITY – The Taylor University football program ranked among the best in the Mid-States Football Association with 18 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as recently announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Taylor was represented on the list by Clay Adams, Sean Callahan, Stephen Ellis, Reid Gerig, Braxton Green, Seth Griswold, Liam Hesting, Jacob Hockett, Hutson Hohlbein, Gage Holder, Reece Johnson, Brendan Lamb, Brayden Layton, Evan MacMillan, Michael Medlock, Bryce Vasvari, Parker Whitby and Hojun Yun.
Taylor's 18 NAIA Scholar-Athletes ranked the Trojans four awards shy of the top mark in the MSFA. In all, the NAIA recognized over 900 football student-athletes with the Scholar-Athlete honor.
To be eligible for an NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative minimum grade-point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale, while having attended one full year at their current institution.
