Robinson and Degenkolb Collect All-Crossroads Honors

AVON, Ohio – The 2017-2018 Men's Basketball All-Crossroads League Teams were announced on Wednesday by the league office, with Taylor's sophomore backcourt duo of Ryan Robinson and Mason Degenkolb earning recognition.
Robinson was heralded as a Third-Team All-Crossroads League performer following his breakout season with the Trojans. The Hamilton High product paced TU with 17.2 points and 3.6 assists per outing, while shooting 39.4 percent from long distance and ranking No. 5 in the NAIA Division II with an 89.2-percent clip from the free throw line. Those numbers jumped to 18.5 points and 3.9 helpers with 2.4 triples per game over 18 league showings for Robinson, who also boosted his long distance accuracy to 42.3 percent in league play to rank among the league's ten-best players in each statistic.
Degenkolb followed his All-American rookie campaign with an Honorable Mention All-Crossroads League nod by averaging 14.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per night for Taylor. The Tipton High product led the CL and ranked third in the NAIA Division II by shooting 90.1 percent from the free throw line and pushed his scoring total to 971 points through his first two seasons in Upland.
Robinson and Degenkolb helped Taylor secure a second-straight winning season with 16 wins to 15 defeats. The duo provided TU with one of the top backcourt scoring tandems in the league and is set to return to the starting lineup along with fellow starters Jake Heggeland and Evan Crowe. In all, the Trojans are poised to return seven-of-10 regulars and each of their top-five scorers for the 2018-2019 campaign.
The All-Crossroads League honors are voted on by the 10 head coaches from around the league and announced by the Crossroad League office.
