Lamping and Waskom Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor's Mitch Lamping and Nick Waskom have both been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II First-Team, as voted on and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The award is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the course. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have reached sophomore status academically with one full year at the current institution of enrollment and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions during the current season.
Lamping, a junior from Liberty Township, Ohio, earned All-Crossroads League honors during the 2016-17 season, collecting six top-5 finishes, including a victory at the Ackerman-Allen Classic with a record-setting 36-hole total of 5-under par. Lamping has a season scoring average 74.2 and has earned top-10 finishes in five of the Trojans' seven tournaments this spring. Lamping has tallied 11 rounds of even par or better this season.
Waskom, a junior from Columbus, Ind., also earned All-Crossroads League honors with five top-5 finishes and a season scoring average of 74.1. Waskom's stellar junior campaign included a victory at the Battle at Blackthorn during the fall season and four top-5 finishes during the spring season. Waskom has carded nine rounds of even par or better in 29 rounds this season.
The duo will now be placed on the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be announced on May 22.
