Men's Golf Competes at Ackerman-Allen Shootout
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Taylor men's golf team closed out its regular season on Tuesday at the Ackerman-Allen Shootout.
The Trojans played a "B" team and a pair of individuals in the 36-hole event, contested at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course at Purdue University, was shortened to 18 holes due to adverse weather conditions on Tuesday morning.
Senior Mitch Lamping and junior Alec Dutkowski carded rounds of even-par 72 to pace TU in the event while playing as individuals.
The Taylor "B" squad carded a team tally of 316 with senior Josh Stimmel, sophomore Nate Morris, and freshman Keegan White each carding rounds of 78. Sophomores Scottie Marston and Noah Miller added rounds of 82 for the Trojans.
Stimmel provided the highlight of the day for the Trojans when the senior holed out from 99-yards for an eagle on the 545-yard, par-5 16th hole.
Parkland Community College claimed the team title with a score of 299 while Saint Francis's Austin Proffitt collected individual medalist honors with a round of 1-under par 71.
The 12th-ranked Trojans will now turn their attention to the Crossroads League Championship set for Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24 at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.
