KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics recently announced its list of 2018 Daktronics Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes, with Taylor's Josh Stimmel and Nick Waskom earning the distinction.
In order to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution.
Stimmel and Waskom were among 180 men's golf student-athletes from around the nation to be named 2018 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and were two of the 12 student-athletes recognized from the Crossroads League.
The Trojans claimed their third consecutive Crossroads League title during the 2017-18 season and finished the season with a seventh place finish at the NAIA National Championship. Taylor claimed a No. 7 ranking, the highest ranking in program history, in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Post-Season Poll.
