AVON, Ohio – Taylor freshman Lucas Beck has been named the Crossroads League Golfer of the Week following his first collegiate victory at the 2019 Crossroads League Championship last week.
A freshman from Zionsville, Indiana, Beck posted a two-round total of 145 (+1) after carding rounds of 73 and 72 to win the weather-shortened event by two strokes over teammate Jeremy Ray. The victory was the first collegiate win for Beck and capped a strong freshman campaign in which Beck has competed in the starting five in every event for Taylor, talling a 75.07 scoring average in 27 rounds of competition.
This is the first Crossroads League weekly honor for Beck and he joins TU senior Alec Dutkowski as a winner of the weekly honor this season.
Beck and the Trojans return to action May 21-24 as the Trojans compete in the NAIA National Championship at Las Sendas Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona.
