Trojans Lead NAIA with Three GCAA All-America Scholars

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor led the NAIA as three members of the Taylor men's golf team earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors.
Nate Morris, Scottie Marston, and Jeremy Ray all earned the distinction which recognizes student-athletes' achievements both on the golf course and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of the team's competitive rounds, and have a stroke average of 78.0 or better while maintaining a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his university.
In total, 24 student-athletes from the NAIA were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status with the three Trojans being the only students from a Crossroads League institution.
Morris finished his junior season with a 76.45 scoring average while competing in all 13 events for the Trojans last season. The Spencerville, Indiana native earned All-Crossroads League honors and maintained a 3.52 GPA as a finance major.
Marston tallied a 76.46 scoring average in 26 rounds while earning a pair of victories. The Dellwood, Minnesota native maintained a 3.90 GPA as a chemistry major while earning All-Crossroads League honorable mention honors.
Ray earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status for the second consecutive year after posting a 75.71 scoring average in 31 rounds for the Trojans. A native of Westfield, Indiana, Ray earned All-Crossroads League honors while maintaining a 3.50 GPA as a finance major.
