Kasitz, Ross Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor's Noah Ross and Adam Kasitz have been recognized for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments as both were named to the CoSIDA NAIA Academic All-District team.
Ross and Kasitz were two of just three golfers honored on the 13-member Academic All-District team comprised of student-athletes competing in lacrosse, rifle, skiing, fencing, swimming, tennis, golf, men's volleyball, gymnastics, water polo, hockey, wrestling and competitive cheer. The NAIA District II team is comprised of student-athletes competing at the NAIA level from the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Ross was honored following a stellar junior campaign that saw the Upland, Indiana native post a 73.97 scoring average in 34 rounds of tournament play while also earning a 3.73 GPA while majoring in politics, philosophy, and economics. Ross earned NAIA All-American honors while also being honored as an All-Crossroads League performer and a GCAA Ping All-Region team honoree. He earned a pair of runner-up finishes during the 2021-2022 season, including at the 2022 Crossroads League Championship. Ross posted a career-low round of 6-under par 66 in a runner-up finish at the Showdown at Legends in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in February and collected an impressive tie for seventh place at the Roadrunner Classic in Dalton, Georgia in April
Kasitz posted a 3.73 GPA while majoring in finance and sport management. The Wichita, Kansas native was also a stalwart on the course for the Trojans, sporting a 75.65 scoring average in 34 rounds. Kasitz collected six top-10 finishes in 13 events and earned All-Crossroads League honors during his sophomore campaign while posting six rounds of par or better.
The honors for Ross and Kasitz boost Taylor's NAIA and NCAA-leading total of CoSIDA Academic All-District selections for the 2021-2022 year to 57. The duo will now advance to the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which is scheduled to be announced on June 14.
The CoSIDA Academic awards are designed to showcase student-athletes for outstanding work in the classroom, as well as on the field of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30, must have reached sophomore status academically with at least one full year at their current institution and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions as a key contributor during the current season.
Student-athletes are nominated for the award by their institution's Sports Information Department and selected via a national vote by members of CoSIDA.
