Four Trojans Golfers Named GCAA All-American Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its 2022 Srixion/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars this week, with Javan Johnson, Erik Fahlen, Noah Ross and Adam Kasitz all receiving the honor. Additionally, the men's golf program earned the 2021-2022 GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award with President's Special Recognition.
Johnson earned the distinction for a third-consecutive year, while Ross and Fahlen garnered their second selections. Kasitz received the honor during his first year being eligible.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NAIA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NAIA and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Taylor garnered the GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award for a seventh-consecutive season, and earned President's Special Recognition for a fourth-straight year.
To receive GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Awards with President's Special Recognition a team must record a GPA of 3.5 or better. The Trojans were one of only four NAIA programs to earn the 2021-22 President's Special Recognition.
The quartet of golfers enjoyed a successful season on the links in 2021-2022, leading the Trojans to a sixth-consecutive Crossroads League title and 24th-place finish at the NAIA National Championship.
