AVON, Ohio – Stephen Cho, Hunter Smith, Joe Beamish, Daniel Gerber and Josh Roth were officially named as All-Crossroads League performers by the league office on Monday, after helping Taylor claim second place at the Crossroads League Championships on November 4.
Cho, Smith, Beamish, Gerber and Roth received the honor by finishing among the top-15 individuals at the league meet. Cho won the event with a time of 25:49.6 to top the field of 128 competitors, while Smith finished second with a time of 25:56.3, Beamish claimed seventh at 26:24.1, Gerber took 12th at 26:42.2 and Roth ended 15th at 26:53.1.
The five All-Crossroads League performances were the most that any Taylor team has garnered in the five years under head coach Lance Vanderberg and narrowly missed earning the program's first league title since 1999, as TU finished five points out of the team championship.
The All-Crossroads League honors were the first for Smith, Beamish, Gerber and Roth, while Cho added his second all-league award, after finishing 12th at the league meet in 2015.
The group and the rest of the No. 19 Trojans (69-11) will wait to learn if they will receive an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championships, slated for November 18 in Vancouver, Washington.
