Taylor Men Land Six NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY – The Taylor men's cross country team finished third in the country with six Daktronics NAIA Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics office announced recently.
Micah Bragg, Ben Byrd, Joey Ferguson, Garrett Henderson, Connor Legge and Landry Long were among the 223 men's cross country student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom. Bragg, Byrd, Ferguson and Long have now received the honor for two-straight years. The six Trojans were among 22 runners from the Crossroads League recognized for the award and topped second-place Spring Arbor, which had four selections.
The Purple and Gold not only excelled in the classroom, but on the course as well in 2018. TU finished 16th at the NAIA National Championships for a fifth-straight, top-20 finish and earned second place at the Crossroads League Championships.
In order to be eligible to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution.
