Bradbury Named TU's Female Athlete of the Year
The award is designed to recognize TU's top female student-athlete among freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors based on athletic accomplishments throughout the current year.
"Kendall had an amazing junior year and most of it was in part to the dedication of her and her teammates to play their roles," said TU women's basketball head coach Jody Martinez. "Kendall is a very talented basketball player but she is an even better person. This recognition is not only an individual award but a team award."
Bradbury averaged 23.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for Taylor during the 2017-2018 campaign, earning NAIA First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Crossroads League honors, while picking up eight-of-19 Player-of-the-Week awards for the CL and earning one NAIA National Player-of-the-Week nod.
The high scoring forward set TU's single-season records with 810 points and 296 made field goals and also broke the program's single-game scoring mark with 41 points in a win over nationally-ranked Olivet Nazarene. Bradbury moved into third on TU's all-time scoring charts with 2,052 points, becoming the program's fastest to 2,000 points and ending the year just 132 points shy of a new program record.
Bradbury led all NAIA Division II players in total points and scoring average, ranked fifth in total rebounds and helped Taylor post a 24-11 overall record. TU scored seven wins over Top-25 foes, advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament Round of 16 and posted the second-highest win total in program history.
