Blount Named CL Defensive Player of the Week

JACKSON, Mich. – Taylor University's Celina Blount has been named the Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week, as the league headquarters announced its first weekly honors of the 2025-2026 season on Monday.

Blount impressed in her Trojan debut and nearly pulled off a triple-double in TU's 90-71 win at Holy Cross. The sophomore forward ended the night with 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots, while also dishing four assists.

The Trojans (1-0) tip off a pair of exhibition games against NCAA Division I opponents tonight (at Cincinnati) and tomorrow (at Butler), before hosting IU South Bend inside Odle Arena on Saturday night.
