AVON, Ohio – Fresh off her sixth collegiate victory over the weekend, Taylor sophomore Nicole Jung has been named the Crossroads League Golfer of the Week.
Jung lapped the field en route to a 4-shot victory at the Clash at Crosswinds last weekend at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia. The All-American posted an opening round 75 and entered the final round trailing Faulkner's Hannah Sager by three shots. Jung overpowered the 5,857-yard, par-72 layout during the final round, carding two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars for an even-par round of 72.
Jung's final round 72 was five shots better than the next best score during the final round and helped the 14th-ranked Trojans erase a 13-shot deficit to tie for first place with Faulkner.
Led by Jung, the Trojans defeated multiple ranked teams, including No. 5 Cumberlands (KY), No. 13 Southeastern, No. 23 Cumberland (TN), and No. 25 SCAD Atlanta.
The win is Jung's sixth career tournament victory and her third this season in seven starts.
Jung and the Trojans return to action this weekend when Taylor hosts the Purgatory Intercollegiate at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana on Friday and Saturday.
