KANSAS CITY – Taylor sophomore Nicole Jung has been named an NAIA First-Team All-American, the NAIA national office announced this week.
A native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Jung becomes the first student-athlete to earn First-Team All-American honors in the history of the Taylor women's golf program. Jung was a Third-Team All-American last season.
Jung earned the All-America nod following a stellar season for the Trojans that included five tournament victories. Jung was named the Crossroads League Player of the Year after winning the 2019 Crossroads League title and finished outside of the top-10 just once all season, in a tie for 18th place at the NAIA National Championship.
The 2018-2019 season was record-breaking for Jung as the sophomore set numerous TU records, including the lowest scoring average for a season (75.50) and the lowest round in program history with a 3-under par 69 in round one of the Purgatory Intercollegiate.
Jung was the only Crossroads League player to earn All-American honors.
