JACKSON, Mich. – Taylor's Sabrina Langerak has been named the Crossroads League Golfer of the Week following her thrilling playoff victory at the Crossroads League Championship.
A freshman from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Langerak calmly rolled in a five-footer for birdie on the first playoff hole on Tuesday to claim her first collegiate victory at the 2022 Crossroads League Championship.
Langerak opened the Crossroads League Championship with a blistering 4-under par 68 on the 5,850-yard, par-72 layout of Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana before adding rounds of 74 and 81 to finish the 54-hole event tied with Braedyn O'Dell of Indiana Wesleyan.
Led by Langerak's standout performance the 19th-ranked Taylor women's golf team earned a runner-up finish, falling just two shots shy of Indiana Wesleyan in TU's bid for a fifth straight Crossroads League title.
With the victory Langerak earned an automatic bid to the 2022 NAIA National Championship scheduled for May 24-27 at Lincoln Park West Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Trojans are in contention for an at-large bid as a team with that announcement coming at the end of this week.
