KANSAS CITY – The accolades keep rolling in for the Taylor women's soccer team as the squad placed eight on the Daktronics NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes list, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released on Friday.
Sarah Bade, Emily Calvani, Hannah Davis, Lauren Engelkes, Rachel German, Maddi Guillaume, Rebekah Schwulst and Danielle Toren were among 732 student-athletes in the country that hit the criteria to be named to the list. Engelkes, German, Guillaume and Schwulst all received the honor for the second-consecutive year for TU. The eight Trojans were among 70 women student-athletes from the Crossroads League recognized for the award.
Aside from the NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, the Purple and Gold have been racking up the awards this offseason. Taylor previously placed five members on the All-Crossroads League Teams and two on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams.
In order to be eligible to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer at their current institution.
