Brackenbury Honored as CL Defensive-Player-of-the-Week

JACKSON, Mich. – After an impressive display against No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan. Hannah Brackenbury was named the Crossroads League Defensive-Player-of-the-Week, announced by the CL in its weekly awards Monday afternoon.

The award is the second Player-of-the-Week honor for Brackenbury, after receiving not only the Crossroads League but also the NAIA Defensive-Player-of-the-Week nod during the week of September 13-19 last season.

Brackenbury posted five saves in Saturday's 2-1 Crossroads League Quarterfinal victory over No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan on the road.

The weather was not ideal, as the Trojans were against a strong wind in the first half. That set the backdrop for an impressive first half from the junior keeper, who collected four saves and kept the match level at zero in the first 30 minutes before TU took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Brackenbury kept the Wildcats at bay in the second half as Trojans doubled their advantage quickly after the break on their way to victory.

The Grand Haven, Mich. product has produced six shutouts this season in between the posts to bring her career total to 18.5 in three seasons at Taylor.

The Trojans (13-3-2, 4-3-2) continue play in the Crossroads League Tournament on Wednesday, November 9, when they take on Marian (15-0-2, 8-0-1) on the road at 7:00 pm in the Semifinals.
