Six Trojans Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its list of 2016 Daktronics NAIA women's volleyball scholar-athletes today, with Taylor's Jessi Arbuckle, Rachel Bouma, Laura Craig, Becca Gerig, Alex Reel, and Kayla Springer each earning the distinction.
In order to be eligible to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution.
Taylor's six NAIA Scholar-Athletes match Indiana Wesleyan and Mount Vernon Nazarene for the second most in the Crossroads League. Grace led the Crossroads League with seven honorees while Midland (Neb.) led the NAIA with ten individuals on the list. In all, 481 volleyball student-athletes, representing 152 institutions earned the distinction nationwide.
