Frey Collects Crossroads League Attacker of the Week After Dominant Debut

UPLAND, Ind. – The Crossroads League released its first Athletes of the week on Monday, in which Ellie Frey was named the Crossroads League Attacker-of-the-Week.
Frey had a terrific debut weekend for the Trojans, collecting 58 kills, 46 digs and seven blocks to fuel a perfect 4-0 start to the season. An average of 4.14 kills per set puts Frey first in the Crossroads League and tenth in the NAIA. Frey was sensational in a season-opening victory over hosts Keiser, delivering 24 kills and 21 digs in a five-set win over the Seahawks.
The Grand Canyon University transfer was amazing everyone on the court in her Taylor debut, finishing first on the team in kills and second in digs, while adding three service aces and two assists. Frey added another double-double in a four-set victory over Florida College in which she had 18 kills and 11 digs.
The Trojans and Frey continue the season in Butte, Montana in the Big Sky Challenge, with matches against Evergreen and Montana State-Northern on Friday, August 22.
