Taylor Rises to No. 22 in Latest NAIA Poll

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor went from receiving votes into the top-25, finding themselves ranked No. 22 in the first in season NAIA Top-25 poll released on Wednesday.
The Trojans have started brightly against a tough schedule to begin the year, notching a victory over No. 11 Missouri Baptist last weekend in addition to a pair of wins over teams that are receiving votes.
Ellie Frey has been astounding leading the Trojan attack, piling up a Crossroads League leading 205 kills. As a team Taylor is hitting .243, good for 15th in the NAIA, led by a .429 mark by sophomore middle, Daya Vestal.
Taylor's play defensively at the net has been impressive, with 2.04 blocks per set ranking 34th in the NAIA. Alexa Mader leads the squad with 0.96 blocks per set followed closely by Shaye Watson at 0.93.
At the service line the Trojans have the eighth-best aces to errors differential, with 17 more aces than errors led as six players have 10 or more aces already this season, led by Margo Hernandez and Suzanne Storey with 18 and 17 respectively.
No. 22 Taylor (9-3) begins Crossroads League play with a road date against Goshen (4-6) set to start at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 3.
