AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week honor on Monday, recognizing Taylor's Sarah Harden for her CL Championship performance two days earlier.
Harden claimed the 2017 Crossroads League Women's Cross Country Individual Championship with a personal-best time of 18:23.8 on Saturday, fending off a pair of teammates for the title, as the Trojans swept the top-three individual positions on their way to a fifth-straight Crossroads League Team Championship.
In addition to logging a personal-best time, Harden turned in the eighth-fastest individual mark in TU's program history. The time was Harden's fifth finish between 18:23 and 18:31 in six races this season, as the freshman has been a consistent presence at the top of the Trojan lineup throughout the 2017 season with a first or second-best time for TU in all six races.
The honor is the fourth for Harden in her first six collegiate races and gives the TU women's cross country program a total of five weekly honors this fall, with fellow freshman, Livy Schroder, claiming the other.
Harden and the No. 4 Trojans (76-2) will close their dominant 2017 campaign on November 18 at the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Washington.
