AVON, Ohio – Sarah Harden was selected as the Crossroads League Female Runner of the Week for her spectacular performance at TU's opening meet in Marion.
The sophomore runner took first place at the Indiana Wesleyan Invite on Friday, topping the 126-runner field with a time of 18:12.3. Harden dominated the course, finishing with an 11-second lead over second place and almost a minute gap between her and any other non-Taylor NAIA-runners.
Harden led No. 2 Taylor to its eighth-best team time in program history to go along with the victory over NCAA Division I Ball State and the rest of the field.
In her short two-year career, Harden has already gathered five weekly honors from the Crossroads League.
Harden and Bailey Zehr of the TU women's soccer program were each honored by the Crossroads League this week to give Taylor a total of three such awards already this fall.
The Trojans return home for their next meet on September 21st at 5:00 pm.
