Taylor Athletics Once Again Has All 18 Teams Boast GPA Above 3.0

UPLAND, Ind. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently announced its list of 2023-2024 Scholar-Teams, with Taylor having each of its varsity athletic teams earn the honor by posting a combined grade-point average of 3.0 and above for the 12th-straight year.
Taylor was one of six institutions from the NAIA with at least 18 varsity athletic programs to see 100-percent of their teams honored as NAIA Scholar-Teams. The Trojans (18) joined Midway (22), Cornerstone (22), Northwestern (21), Dordt (19) and Bethel (KS) (19) on that list of top academic performers.
TU also ranked among the NAIA's elite with 15 of its teams posting a combined GPA of 3.40 and above, finishing just one shy of leading the nation in that category.
In addition to having 15 teams come in above 3.40 during the 2023-2024 year, Taylor had all but one of its programs boast a GPA of at least 3.20 and all 18 were at 3.10 and above.
Taylor ranked second in the NAIA among all women's soccer teams with a 3.73 GPA, while men's golf (3.64) and football (3.22) ranked fifth in their respective sport, men's indoor track and field (3.41) ranked eighth and men's basketball (3.50) ranked ninth.
In all, Taylor had 14-of-18 teams ranked inside the top-25 in their respective sports, with all nine of TU's men's programs finishing inside the top-25.
Leading the way for the Trojans were the teams of women's cross country and women's soccer with their 3.73 grade-point averages. Those programs tied for 115th in overall team GPA in the NAIA.
