NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Taylor baseball team remained No. 1 in the GoRout NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the second consecutive week, with the latest tally released Wednesday by the national office.
TU (38-3, 26-2 CL) received one additional first-place vote for 10 total in the latest poll, while holding on to the top spot by two points over No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett, who earned three first-place votes. The Trojans received 466 points and the Grizzlies picked up 464, followed by Bellevue in third at 457 points and four first-place votes.
Taylor has now appeared in 20 consecutive polls dating back to the 2023 season and has been ranked inside the top 10 in each of the last seven releases.
With eight games remaining in the regular season, the Trojans have now scored 11 or more runs in 12 consecutive games and reached 20 straight victories for the first time since 2011, when TU won a program-record 24 in a row. After sweeping Goshen to extend the active win streak, TU topped last season's 18-game run and earned 20 road wins on the year, a mark the program hasn't reached since 2010.
Powered by one of the nation's most productive offenses, TU leads the country in team batting average at .357 while also posting a .483 on-base percentage and .591 slugging percentage, along with 461 runs, 62 home runs and 167 extra-base hits. The pitching staff has paired that with a 3.34 ERA and a .228 opponent batting average, helping limit opponents to just 139 runs on the year.
Bellevue checked in at No. 3, while Johnson moved to No. 4 and Lewis-Clark State stayed at No. 5 to round out the top five. Crossroads League rival Huntington dropped out of the Top 25, while Marian bumped up to No. 24. The Trojans close out the regular season next week against the Knights.
The top-ranked Trojans return to action Thursday against Indiana Wesleyan with Game 1 of the cross-county clash scheduled for a 4 p.m. first pitch at Winterholter Field.
