UPLAND, Ind. - Taylor resumes its 2025 home schedule on Saturday, September 13, against Kentucky Christian. The non-league game is set for a 4:00 pm start inside Turner Stadium.
SCOUTING TAYLOR: The Trojans have picked up where they left off last season, eclipsing the 40-point barrier in each outing to open the 2025 campaign. Taylor is currently No. 9 in the NAIA with 97 points scored and No. 19 with 825 total yards of offense.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN: The Knights overcame a 20-0 deficit in their 41-20 win at Brevard. KCU was stingy on defense, allowing only 42 rushing yards and 166 total yards of offense. Jackson Wasik ignited the offense with four total touchdowns, 229 passing yards and 67 rushing yards.
LAST MEETING: TU found the end zone on seven of its first nine possessions on its way to a 67-35 win at KCU last September. The Trojans bolted to a 35-0 lead and ended with 560 total yards of offense.
SERIES HISTORY: Taylor is 2-0 all-time against Kentucky Christian on the gridiron, and 1-0 against the Knights under the direction of fifth-year head coach Aaron Mingo.
LAST TIME OUT: Taylor piled up 42 points before halftime and cruised to a 45-28 win at Saint Francis (IL) last week. The Trojans capitalized on six USF turnovers, with Grady Stanley forcing and recovering a fumble and intercepting a pass.
PARKER AND SHILTS RECOGNIZED BY MSFA: TU had a pair of MSFA Mideast League Players of the Week following its 45-28 win at RV Saint Francis (IL). Nathan Parker and Lucas Shilts were each honored, after Parker rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns and Shilts supplied nine points in the kicking game.
TROJANS IN THE RANKINGS: Taylor has several individuals near the top of the NAIA in key statistics. Grady Stanley is No. 2 with two interceptions, Devin Stupples is No. 2 with 229 return yards, Lucas Shilts is No. 3 with 12 extra-point conversions, Nathan Parker is No. 3 with four rushing touchdowns and Jack D'Arcy is No. 4 with three receiving scores.
TAYLOR RECEIVING VOTES: Taylor opened the 2025 season just outside of the Top-25 in the NAIA Preseason Poll, earning the 26th-most points in those rankings. TU closed the 2024 season at No. 22 and sat at No. 25 in the NAIA Postseason Poll.
