UPLAND, Ind. - Taylor continues the non-league portion of its 2025 schedule on Saturday, October 4, when it hosts Saint Francis on Homecoming. Start time is set for 1:00 pm inside Turner Stadium, with the special Hall of Fame ceremony on the field at halftime.
SCOUTING #RV TAYLOR: The Trojans have scored over 40 points in four-straight games to start the season for the first time in program history and enter Saturday ranked No. 3 in the NAIA with 48.0 points per contest. TU bolstered those numbers last week with a 63-point outburst in a win at Judson.
SCOUTING #RV SAINT FRANCIS: The Cougars have played just one road game so far, but passed that test with flying colors in a 35-0 win at Lawrence Tech. USF enters Saturday on a three-game win streak, most recently having edged Defiance by a 37-34 margin.
LAST MEETING: Taylor scored 35 points in the second half of a 58-36 Homecoming win over USF last season, racking up 359 yards on the ground and rushing for seven touchdowns.
SERIES HISTORY: Taylor is 3-21 all-time against Saint Francis on the gridiron, and 1-3 against the Cougars under the direction of fifth-year head coach Aaron Mingo.
LAST TIME OUT: TU turned in its best all-around effort of the season in a 63-7 win at Judson on September 27. The Trojans set season-highs on offense with 63 points, 641 total yards of offense, 258 passing yards and 383 rushing yards. On the defensive side, TU also set season-bests with seven points allowed, seven sacks, 13 hits for lost yardage, 164 yards allowed and negative-26 rushing yards allowed.
PARKER, RANZAU AND SHILTS RECOGNIZED BY MSFA: Following TU's 63-7 win at Judson, the Trojans swept the MSFA Mideast League Player-of-the-Week awards on Monday, with Nathan Parker (offense), Caleb Ranzau (defense) and Lucas Shilts (special teams) earning the accolades. TROJANS IN THE RANKINGS: A few Trojans are near the top of the NAIA in key statistics so far this season. Nathan Parker headlines that list at No. 3 in the NAIA with 140.3 rushing yards per game, 15.0 points per game and 10 rushing touchdowns, Lucas Shilts is No. 5 with 25 extra-points and Caleb Ranzau is No. 8 with 4.5 sacks entering play on Saturday.
TAYLOR RECEIVING VOTES: Taylor has continued to receive votes in the NAIA Top-25, most recently collecting 38 points in the most recent poll for the 28th-highest total in the NAIA.
HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2025: During halftime of Saturday's game, Taylor Athletics will officially induct Steve Brooks (men's basketball), Matt Hall (men's cross country and track), Plenseh-Tay Sakeuh Nordquist (women's track) and Savannah Porter (women's soccer) into its Hall of Fame.
