Trojans Again Receive Votes in NAIA Top-25 Poll
UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor received votes in the fourth NAIA Football Top-25 Poll of the regular season, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics on Monday afternoon.
The Trojans collected 10 points in the latest poll, dipping from 38 in the previous poll after suffering a 49-35 setback to now-No. 25 Saint Francis on October 4. TU was one of 10 teams to receive votes outside of the top-25, with the 32nd-highest point total in the rankings.
The Trojans sit at 3-2 as they near the season's midway point, with an overtime loss to now-No. 24 Olivet Nazarene and Saturday's Homecoming loss to USF bookending wins over Saint Francis (IL), Kentucky Christian and Judson.
Taylor has scored at least 35 points in all five outings and currently ranks No. 2 in the NAIA with 288.0 rushing yards per game, No. 8 with 45.4 points per contest and No. 11 with 472.0 total yards of offense per showing.
TU has several individuals ranking near the top of the NAIA as well, led by Nathan Parker at No. 3 in the NAIA with 14.4 points per game, 138.6 rushing yards per game and 12 rushing touchdowns. Devin Stupples is at No. 9 with 29.5 yards per kickoff return, with Reese Pinckney at No. 10 with six passes defended and Caleb Ranzau at No. 11 with 4.5 sacks.
RV Taylor (3-2) will close the non-league portion of its schedule when it takes on No. 12 Marian (4-1) in a 7:00 pm start inside Turner Stadium on Saturday, October 11.
