Taylor Inches Up in Latest NAIA Top-25 Poll
UPLAND, Ind. – The sixth NAIA Top-25 Football Poll of the regular season was announced on Monday, with Taylor moving closer to a position within the Top-25 after handling Defiance by a 42-10 margin to open MSFA Mideast League play.
The Trojans collected 20 points in the new poll, bumping up 12 points from the week-five ratings and climbing three spots to the 31st-highest point total in the poll.
TU moved up after throttling Defiance on Saturday, holding the Yellow Jackets to 224 total yards of offense and just 56 yards through the air with arguably its finest defensive showing of the season. The Taylor offense remained on track, countering with 440 total yards of offense and 337 rushing yards.
The Trojans have now scored at least 35 points in each of their seven contests this season and in 10-of-11 games dating back to the 2024 campaign. The Purple and Gray continue to grade out as one of the best offenses in the NAIA, sitting at No. 10 with 43.4 points per game, No. 11 with 469.1 yards per game and No. 2 with 283.6 rushing yards per game.
RV Taylor (4-3, 1-0 MSFA) will continue league play on Saturday, October 25, with a 1:00 pm start at Lawrence Tech (1-5, 0-1 MSFA).
