TROJANS HOLD OFF BLUE KNIGHTS FOR WIN

The Taylor men's basketball team (4-2) held Urbana to just 19 first half points, then held on through the final minutes to claim a 50-45 victory at the Cedarville Classic.
Coach Paul Patterson's club controlled the tempo throughout the game, forcing Urbana to play the half court game that has made the Trojans so successful over the years.
TU held the Blue Knight to a mere 29% from the field in the first period for a total of 19 points,
Early in the second half Urbana made their move to gain a 27-26 advantage, but TU regained the lead and maintained it until the buzzer sounded.
In the final minutes the Trojans were 6-6 from the charity stripe with Alex Daniel hitting four and Daniel Cox adding two more.
Daniel finished with a game high 23 points including a 9 of 12 night from the free throw line. Jake Bream chipped in 11 points and pulled down a team high 8 boards. Cox dropped in 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
TU's defense held Urbana to 34% from the field and only one Blue Knight scored in double figures.
Taylor will face host Cedarville at 7 pm on Saturday.
