Trojans Climb into the Top-25 in Latest Poll
NAIA Men's Basketball Top-25
UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor continued its climb in the NAIA Top-25 poll, reaching No. 23 on Wednesday on the heels of a 10-game winning streak. The Trojans are in the Top-25 for the first time since December of 2017, and it's the highest since being No. 12 earlier in the 2017-18 season.
No. 23 Taylor has gone undefeated since the last poll where they received three votes, going an impressive 5-0 and holding every opponent to 10 or fewer points under their season average. The Trojans' 6-1 start in Crossroads League play is the best for the program since an 8-1 start in the 2005-06 season.
The offense has continued to sizzle, scoring over 80 in all but two games this season. TU currently sits in the top-20 in the NAIA in points per game (87.1), field goal percentage (49.9), and rebounding margin (8.4) while placing in the top ten in three-point percentage (39.6) and assists per game (19.5).
A balanced attack has left defenses befuddled as Austin Peters has instilled a free-flowing offense paired with a stingy defense in his second year at the helm.
Three different athletes have collected a Crossroads-League Player of the Week award for the Trojans this season, showcasing the balance and depth of the terrific team.
No. 23 Taylor (14-3, 6-1 CL) continues its season on Wednesday, January 14th against Spring Arbor (9-8, 2-5 CL) on the road in Crossroads League action tipping at 7:00 pm.
