Taylor Earns At-Large Bid to NAIA National Tournament

KANSAS City, Mo. – Taylor (19-10) earned an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament announced Thursday evening and is set to travel to Orange City, Iowa as the No. 13 seed in the Naismith Region of the bracket.
The Trojans will face No. 20 Northwestern (26-5), who serves as the No. 4 seed in the Naismith Region, in the first round on Friday March 13th, with tip scheduled for 6:30 pm at then Bultman Center. Joining Taylor and Northwestern in Orange City are RV William Penn (25-6) as the No. 5 seed and College of Idaho (20-10) as the No. 12 seed, who will face off approximately 30minutes after the conclusion of TU's game.
Taylor is heading to the NAIA National Tournament for the 16th time in program history, with the most recent visit in 2017.
The Trojans are 7-15 all-time in the NAIA National Tournament, with wins in 2017, 2006, 1994, 1991 and 1987. Taylor is 5-10 all-time in the first round, has advanced to the Elite Eight on two occasions and reached the program's only Final Four in 1991. TU's last win at Nationals came via a 73-67 victory against Warner in 2017.
Taylor was one of 39 at-large selections to join 35 automatic qualifiers. The Trojans are one of five Crossroads League teams in the tournament, joining No. 2 Grace, No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 19 Bethel, and No. 22 Huntington in the field of 64.
Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for K-College students. Tickets purchased online at nwcraiders.com/tickets will waive the processing fee, while tickets purchased at the gate will include a $1.00 fee. For those unable to attend the game, all NAIA Tournament games will be televised free of charge by the Urban Edge Network.
