UPLAND, Ind. – Josiah Peterson was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Google Cloud Academic All-District II NAIA At-Large Team on Thursday, as voted on and announced by CoSIDA members.
Peterson was one of 10 student-athletes from the NAIA to receive the honor from District II, which includes all NAIA schools from the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. Peterson was joined on the list by TU's Stephen All of the men's tennis program, as Taylor joined Lindsey Wilson, Xavier-Louisiana and Cumberland in placing two individuals on the list.
Peterson shined on and off the field during his senior campaign as one of Taylor's leading players on attack. The Bowie, Maryland native started all 10 games for the Trojans in their inaugural season, finishing third on the team with 27 goals and 35 points. In the classroom, Peterson is set to graduate with a degree in Christian ministries with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.85.
In addition to placing Peterson and All on the CoSIDA Academic All-District NAIA Men's At-Large Team, Taylor also saw Molly Fletchall of its women's tennis program named to the Women's At-Large Team to give the Trojans a total of 19 CoSIDA Academic All-District awards during the 2018-2019 year.
Peterson, All and Fletchall will advance to the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be announced on June 18.
The CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District award is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the court or field of play.
