UPLAND, Ind. – After having never previously defeated Lawrence Tech prior to 2026, the Taylor men's lacrosse team completed a season sweep of the Blue Devils on Saturday, battling through heavy rain and slick conditions for an 18-10 win at Wheeler Field.
In the first meeting this season between Taylor and Lawrence Tech, TU broke open a 4-4 tie at halftime with a 10-2 advantage in the second half. The Purple and Gray picked up where they left off, scoring the first five goals on Saturday and bolting to a 15-3 lead en route to the comfortable final margin.
Ben Harrell was stingy in goal, racking up 20 saves in 30 shots on goal from LTU (2-9, 1-6 WHAC), while Lucas Pacer closed with 13 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Grant Elzinga also impacted the action with three caused turnovers, five ground balls, one goal and one assist.
Will Saxby was active in his return from injury, netting five goals and dishing out three assists, with Jude Wood adding four goals, Henry Cooper adding three and Jackson Dale finishing with two goals and four helpers.
No. 9 Taylor (7-5, 3-4 WHAC) matched its program record with its seventh win and will look to add to that total when it returns to action on Wednesday, April 8 with a 7:00 pm start at No. 7 Indiana Tech (6-5, 4-2 WHAC).
