Taylor Jumps Back Into NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Poll
UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor men's lacrosse team returned to the NAIA Top-10 Poll on Wednesday following a two week absence from the national rankings.
The Trojans received 11 points in the national poll, marking the 12th-highest point total in the ratings and putting Taylor just 13 points shy of the first Top-10 ranking in program history.
Taylor owns a 5-6 overall mark on the season, with all six defeats coming to teams ranked or receiving votes in the national poll at the time of the contest. Three of those defeats have been by one or two goals as the Trojans have flirted with several upsets on their home turf.
A trio of Trojans were in the top-20 in a key statistical category at the time of the poll, led by Henry Cooper ranking No. 9 with 114 shots. Jackson Dale and Casey Bane also cracked the top-20 in one stat each, with Dale ranking No. 20 with 19 assists and Bane ranking No. 20 with 20 caused turnovers.
RV Taylor (5-6, 0-4 WHAC) will close its home schedule on Saturday, April 12, when it takes on Siena Heights (5-5, 0-4 WHAC) in a 1:00 pm Senior Day tilt at Wheeler Field.
