AVON, Ohio – Senior Jeremiah Rader was the lone Taylor men's soccer player selected to an All-Crossroads League team, after the league announced the honorees on Monday.
Rader was named to the Crossroads League Second-Team after his stellar performance during his final season in a TU uniform for head coach Gary Ross.
The league's coaches awarded 26 players to the CL First and Second-Teams, with 13 being named to each squad.
The Purple and Gold ended the year with a 6-8-4 record and 3-3-3 mark in league play and played its best soccer at the end of the season. After starting conference play 0-3, the Trojans went on a 3-0-3 run to earn the fourth-seed in the league tournament and hosted fifth-seed Mount Vernon Nazarene in the quarterfinals. TU advanced by winning the shootout 3-0 on penalty kicks, before losing at top-seed and No. 10 Spring Arbor, 4-1, in the semifinals.
Rader earned his first All-Crossroads League selection after finishing second on the team with six goals and had one assist for 13 points. The Avon, Indiana native had two game-winning goals during the year, coming against Marian and Trinity Christian. The midfielder played an important role not only on offense, but on defense as well for Taylor. The senior helped the team secure five shutouts during the year. Rader ended his career with 16 goals and 11 assists, while logging 65 starts in 66 appearances.
