UPLAND, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors of America have voted on and announced the 2021 NAIA Men's Soccer Academic All-American teams, on which Taylor senior Quinn Partain was honored as a Second-Team selection.
After having received his third CoSIDA Academic All-District award, Partain has now garnered his first Academic All-American award. The senior captain's All-American nod is now the fifth in program history and the first since 2015, when defender Rocky Byrd made the list.
Partain maintained a 3.91 grade-point average throughout his computer science and systems course load, all the while leading the Trojans on the pitch with five goals, 12 points and a remarkable shots-on-goal percentage of 74.2 percent.
The senior forward finished his career with eight goals and six assists for a total of 22 points, throughout 53 career games played in a Trojan uniform.
Partain was accompanied by women's soccer player, Riley Massey, on the Academic All-American team, which now gives Taylor a total of 100 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans throughout its school history, 98 of which have come since 2010.
The CoSIDA Academic All-American award is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the court or field of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30, must have reached sophomore status academically with at least one full year at their current institution and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions as a key contributor during the current season.
Student-athletes are nominated for the award by their institution's Sports Information Department and voted on by members of CoSIDA.
