Susud's Shutouts Earn Him CL Defensive-Player-of-the-Week Honors

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League released its weekly awards on Monday, in which Jacob Susud was honored with his first-career defensive-player-of-the-week award.

Susud shined this past week for the Trojans (5-8-5, 3-4-2), securing two shutout victories as TU clinched a spot in the upcoming Crossroads League Tournament.

The Trojan goalie began the week with seven saves against Marian (5-10-2, 2-6-1) and complemented that with another four saves against Saint Francis (7-9-2, 0-8-1) to secure two 1-0 victories.

Susud now boasts three and a half shutouts in his career while making 13 total appearances for the purple and gold.

The senior has risen to the occasion in limited minutes in his final season for TU, posting an 89.7 save percentage, while grabbing 26 saves in five starts in-between the posts.

Taylor now boasts 22 total weekly awards received thus far in the 2022-2023 athletic year.

After two victories in the final week of the regular season, Taylor will begin the Crossroads League tournament as the five seed and head to Huntington to match up with RV Huntington on the pitch. The match will take place Saturday, November 5, with a kick-off time to be announced.
