UPLAND, Ind. –Bryce Lawrence scored a pair of goals in the final ten minutes to complete a comeback for the Trojans, winning 3-1 over IU Northwest (0-2-0) on Wednesday night.
The game-winning goal came in the 81st minute after a long pass found Elias Munoz, who fired a shot, which was parried by the keeper and fell to the feet of Lawrence, who fired into an open net for the 2-1 advantage.
Munoz and Lawrence teamed up for another goal two minutes later, with the former delivering an inch-perfect cross, which Lawrence directed past the keeper and sent the crowd into a frenzy.
A terrific final ten minutes preceded an even first 80 minutes, which the scoreline reflected with a 1-1 tie.
IU Northwest found the back of the net in the 25th minute for a 1-0 advantage.
The Trojans were able to level the match at one before halftime when Carter Glover delivered a cross, which found the head of Jacob Nicholson, who directed the pass into the corner for his second goal of the young season.
Taylor (3-1-0) travels to play Madonna (1-0-1) on Tuesday, September 3, in its next contest, with kick-off set for 2:00 pm.
