Trojans Run Past Wilberforce 66-40
WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Taylor women's basketball earned its first true road win of the season Tuesday against Wilberforce, holding the Bulldogs to just 40 points.
"We have stressed individual growth in core components of the game, specifically defensively," said head coach Kelly Packard. "There was definitely growth by several individuals, and we created our own energy on the road which will be important."
Cassidy Wyse led the Trojans with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Josie Cobb contributed 14 points and nine rebounds. Emma Brattain had eight points and Megan Richardson scored seven points to go with eight rebounds.
Cobb made three shots from beyond the arc as the Trojans canned seven three-pointers in the contest, their highest mark of the season. The Trojans also forced Wilberforce into 22 turnovers while committing just 12 of their own.
Taylor (3-2) will next be on its home court Saturday for a contest with No. 6 Saint Xavier University. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
