BABSON PARK, Fla. – After leading by as many as 11 points in the third quarter, the TU women's basketball team came up short in overtime, 75-70, at Webber International on Saturday.
Taylor (2-2) held a six-point lead after one quarter of play and held that advantage through the second quarter, taking a 34-28 lead into halftime. The Trojans' primary edge was at the free throw line, where they outscored the Warriors 11-4 at the charity stripe.
The Trojans extended the lead up to 11 points with 2:37 left in the third quarter, but WIU (2-4) used a 19-9 scoring run in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.
Webber International outscored TU 14-9 in the extra period to secure the victory for the hosts.
Kendall Bradbury finished with 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Trojans, while Josie Cobb added 15 points, three boards and three assists. Lacey Garrett tacked on eleven points, three rebounds and three assists for Taylor.
Next on the schedule for the Trojans (2-2) is a matchup with RV Southeastern (2-0) at 7:00 pm on Monday to wrap up the team's Florida trip.
