Toren Earns CoSIDA Academic All-American Honors

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Danielle Toren was named a Google Cloud Second-Team Academic All-American on Monday, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Toren, who started all 20 matches this season, excelled on and off the pitch for Taylor women's soccer. From her defender position, Toren scored three goals and assisted on another, while claiming the game-winner against Purdue University Northwest. The Grand Rapids, Michigan native holds a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average as a management systems major and helped the TU defense rank 18th in the NAIA with 11 shutouts and 19th in shutouts per game (0.55).
Toren is the eighth selection in Taylor women's soccer history to be named an Academic All-American. The Trojans now boast 78 Academic All-Americans in school history, with 41 First-Team honors.
The CoSIDA Google Cloud All-America award is voted on by members of CoSIDA, recognizing the finest student-athletes from around the nation at NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions. A student-athlete must be nominated by their Sports Information Director, must have reached sophomore status academically with a 3.30 cumulative GPA and must be a key contributor during the current season in order to be eligible for the honor.
