KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After opening the season with three shutout victories, the Taylor University women's soccer team has received votes in the first edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced on Wednesday.
TU (3-0-0) is one of nine programs remaining across the nation with three or more wins and zero losses or ties. The Trojans are undefeated through the first three matches of the season for the third time in five years.
Led by five players with four or more points, TU's potent attack has the Trojans sitting tied for ninth in the country in shots per game (23.7) while outscoring opponents by a combined margin of 10-0.
Eliza Luttrell and Leah McQuade each have posted two goals and one assist. Campbell Massey, who was recently named Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week, and Lydia Johnson have also notched a pair of goals.
In addition, TU's play in the defensive zone has been impressive during the early portion of the season, anchored by senior goalkeeper Brianna Rawlings. Through three contests, the Trojans are outpacing opponents 34-5 in shots on goal while registering a significant edge in corner tries, 23-2.
TU's schedule will begin to toughen up as conference play draws near.
After today's home match against Trinity Christian, the Trojans will hit the road for six of the next eight contests including road matchups at No. 18 Campbellsville (9/6), No. 7 Aquinas (9/17) and No. 12 Spring Arbor (10/4).
TU last appeared in the national coaches' poll midway through last season, when the Trojans received votes on October 9, 2024.
