Crossroads League Release | TU Honors Page
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League revealed yet another collection of weekly honors, in which TU junior, Kacy Bragg, was recognized as the league's Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Bragg served up a grand total of 122 assists throughout the week, scoring at least 35 in each of TU's three matches. Along with the abundance of assists, the Trojan setter recorded 19 digs, five kills and three service aces.
To kick off the week, Taylor made quick work of Huntington (9-13, 3-8 CL), winning in three sets while Bragg locked in 37 assists and eight digs. In their mid-week match, the Trojans had their eight-match win streak snapped by Thomas More (17-3) but Bragg posted her week's best effort with 46 assists and seven digs. On Saturday, the Warsaw, Indiana, native dished out another 39 assists against Georgetown (6-12) to establish her week's total at an astounding 122.
Bragg now leads the nation with 899 assists, while averaging 10.6 assists per set.
This week's honor gives Bragg five in her career, four of which have come in her junior season alone. This is the first time a Trojan has collected four Player-of-the-Week honors in a single season since 2016, when Haley Harrell was honored as the league's Setter of the Week six times.
Taylor athletes now boast 16 CL or MSFA Player-of-the-Week awards in the 2021-2022 athletic year, nine of which belong to TU's volleyball team.
Bragg and the No. 17 Trojans (21-3, 10-1 CL) return to action on Wednesday, October 6, when they will aim at first place in the Crossroads League while taking on No. 7 Marian (19-0, 11-0 CL).
