Bluemel Named Crossroads League Runner of the Week
AVON, Ohio – Taylor Bluemel crushed the course on Friday, taking second-place at the Bethel Invitational. The junior's performance earned the honor of Crossroads League Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Logging the sixth-best individual time in program-history, Bluemel ran a blazing 18:12.1 for the 5,000-meter race. The time was a personal-record for the junior and led the Trojans to a third-consecutive meet victory.
Taylor notched a program-best time on Friday, landing a mark of 92:00. Bluemel helped set the new record, leading the top-five Trojans who all placed in the top-10 out of the field of 189.
Bluemel joined Alex Berends and Sarah Harden, as the third TU women's cross country runner to earn the weekly honor.
Bluemel and the second-ranked Trojans (30-0) will return to the course for the Great Lakes Invite on October 20th.
