Trojans Win Columbia Classic with Record-Setting Performance
ST. LOUIS – Taylor closed its weekend stay in Saint Louis with a record-setting performance, scoring a 93.47 to set a new program record. The mark also gave TU its first event title of the year and its fifth event title in the six-year history of the program.
The Trojans blew away the six-team field, easily topping Missouri Valley (86.82) and Indiana Wesleyan (83.20) in the top-three.
The score was TU's second-ever team score of at least 90, topping its previous program-record mark of 90.40 set last season at the Florida Faceoff.
No. 8 Taylor will compete again on Saturday, February 28, when it hosts the Taylor Invitational in Odle Arena, starting at 7:30 pm. TU is set to take the mat at 8:40 pm and will honor its senior class following the conclusion of the 10-team competition.
