INDIANAPOLIS – For the third time this season Taylor's Alec Dutkowski has been named the Crossroads League Golfer of the Week.
Dutkowski turned in a pair of impressive performances last week to lead the 15th-ranked Trojans. The sophomore tied for individual medalist honors at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State with a 54-hole total of 2-under par 208 (66-70-72). The win was Dutkowski's second in his last four tournament starts and his fourth consecutive finish inside of second place or better.
The Wakarusa, Indiana native led the Trojans to an impressive come from behind victory earlier in the week at the Wildcat Cup at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club in Indianapolis. Fueled by a final round score of 67 (-5) from Dutkowski the Trojans fired a team score of 286, the best team score by 17 shots, to claim a dominant victory over a field that featured seven other teams ranked or receiving votes. Dutkowski's two-round total of 145 (78-67) earned the sophomore a tie for second place.
Dutkowski and the Trojans will now set their sights on the Crossroads League Championship slated for next Monday and Tuesday at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
