Men’s Golf Battles NAIA’s Best at Music City Classic
NASHVILLE – The Taylor men's golf team competed in a 21-team, three-round Music City Classic on Monday and Tuesday with 12 teams ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA's latest Top-25 Poll.
The Trojans fired rounds of 299 and 302 on Monday, before moving up two spots to 18th with a final round of 292 on Tuesday.
Aaron Fulda led the way for TU, surging 34 spots on the leaderboard with a career-best round of 67 over Tuesday's 18 holes. The freshman also carded a 73 in his opening round and closed the event with Taylor's best finish at 48th.
Fellow freshman, Davis Formsma, joined Fulda atop Taylor's lineup by shooting back-to-back rounds of 73 over his final 36 holes to climb into 70th, while Will Schuitema opened with a 73 and finished the event in 74th.
Taylor will return to the course on April 17 and 18 at the Bethel Pilot Spring Classic in South Bend, Indiana.
