Conklin Leads TU to Runner-Up Finish at Sagamore Shootout
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Tanner Conklin finished 36 holes on Monday at the Sagamore Shootout at one-under par and in second place to power Taylor to a second-place team finish at the 12-team event.
The Trojans posted rounds of 290 and 303 to finish at 593 and 15 strokes back of No. 14 Marian for the title.
Conklin also took second with rounds of 65 and 78, ending at 143 and three shots off pace of the medalist. Conklin's opening round 65 was a new career-low for the junior and tied for the best round of the season for the Purple and Gray.
Ben Oakley, Will Schuitema and Davis Formsma were next in line for TU in a three-way tie for 13th at 151, with Aaron Fulda and Porter Dick tying for 16th at 152.
Taylor will compete next at the Crossroads League Championships on April 27 and 28. The 54-hole tournament will be hosted at Coyote Crossing Golf Club in West Lafayette, Indiana.
